Theater Arts Apprenticeship Program (TAAP)
Just three years ago YMTC launched our T.A.A.P Program to open our doors and offer training to students interested in the technical and "behind-the-scenes" aspects of a production. The program has taken hold and is growing with each production. We offer apprenticeships that match students with professional teaching artists who provide on-site and private mentoring in the disciplines of directing, music directing, stage management, choreography, set & props design/building, costume design/wardrobe management, hair & make-up design, lighting design/engineering, sound design/engineering, and technical theater/run crew.
Our TAAP programs now span ten departments!

Pit Orchestra Apprenticeship Program (POAP)
A new and growing program! Live, full orchestras and the use of original orchestrations are central to each of our productions. Our resident music director, David Möschler, has included student musicians in our orchestras during past seasons, and this season YMTC has officially launched the POAP program. Motivated students receive exceptional musical training through our apprenticeship model and gain valuable experience playing alongside local professionals. Our Pit Orchestra Apprenticeship Program is tuition-free. |
